How To Protect Your Body From Negative Effects Of UV Rays

Created the sun to shine on the earth and has several benefits for human life on earth. Sun has called ultraviolet rays (UV). Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is invisible rays that are part of energy that comes from the sun.

The benefits that we get from the sun is the bright light that illuminates the earth, warm the body, helping the process of photosynthesis in plants, helps the formation of vitamin D in the human body, which strengthens bones and teeth and helps our body to build immunity against diseases such as rickets and colon cancer ,

UV light has also been used for sterilization and disinfection. For animal
, UV light has a positive effect that some animals can see UV light, and UV help bees to collect pollen from flowers.

From some of the positive effect of the sun's rays, there are also negative effects to human health. UV rays can damage the eyes
because it causes oxidation reactions in the eye lens that will cause cloudiness in the lens so that there arose a disease called cataract, as well as damage to the cornea and retina. In addition to the eyes, hair and skin can also be affected by the bad effects if parts of it are not protected or if we are too much exposed to sunlight.

The negative effects occurred in recent years, why is this happening? when the sun does not change, the sun is still shining on the earth with the same color, rises from the east and sets in the west. But
what distinguishes it is the layer that protects the earth from solar radiation.

Layer that protects the earth had been reduced, the thin ozone layer increases due to several factors caused by human beings as well. For example because of the large number of vehicles and
factories on earth that cause smog, air pollution and environmental pollution, deforestation causes the air quality at the earth for the worse, the greenhouse effect, and the content of CFCs in air freshener, cooling in air conditioners and refrigerators.

How to reduce the adverse effects of UV rays is to protect our bodies in ways as follows:

1. Using Sun Protector
Or Sunscreen
The use of sunscreen is done to avoid the dangers of UV rays penetrate our skin. The use of sunscreen should be tailored to the skin type and how often we are dealing directly with the sun.

SPF (Sun Protection Factor), a unit sunscreen that is used to indicate how long we could be exposed to the sun without skin to be burned, available from levels of 8, 15, 30, 45, or even 60. SPF calculation adjusted to minimal erythema dose or redness.
We can also use sun block that contains ingredients that absorb, scatter and reflect the energy of sunlight.

2. Using Sunglasses

Based on research that has been done
that sunglasses able to prevent wrinkles at the corners of the eyes, helps reduce the blinding light into the eye, protect the eyes from the dangers of ultraviolet rays, and reduce contrast.

3. Using Wide Hats
And Umbrella

Clothing will only absorb up to 60% of UV rays to the skin, so that cover the body with clothing still not enough, so it should be coupled with hat and umbrella.

4.
Do Not Swim Too Long Under The Sun

When in the water, do not think that we are protected from UV exposure. Water still can reflect UV rays to the skin up to 3%, even when swimming, UV rays can still penetrate to a depth of 9 meters.

5. Standing Under The Tree

Tree with leaves that shade of course, can protect us from the sun and providing a cool and comfortable atmosphere. However, as the soil that the grass we tread it also can reflect as much as 3% of UV rays on the skin.
